Rocket of Doom
NASA builds a rocket that will be used to launch yet another satellite into space. However, while they create the navigation program, a programmer puts a plus sign where a minus sign should be. On launch day everything looks good. The rocket is ready and the satellite is ready. The rocket launches into space. So far, so good. The rocket releases the satellite and the plus sign rears its ugly head. The error affects both the rocket and satellite. On re-entry, the rocket goes way off course and crashes into a yacht full of the rich funders who financed the project. By sheer coincidence, the yacht also suffered from navigation error and was set of course by a few miles. The satellite also plummeted to earth and obliterated the house of the guy who programmed the rocket's, satellite's AND the yacht's navigation program. He used the same template for each program. The template had the horrible error and no one knew it, and they still don't. Dun dun duuunnn!
